We sadly cannot share full details of the funeral service here, to prevent a mass gathering. We apologise for this, but we ask for understanding given the current rules.

Funeral plans will be shared on a need-to-know basis with those who are attending as one of the allowed 30 attendees, or those who will be following the convoy. Anyone who is not a part of the 30 attendees must please exercise extreme social distancing away from the funeral. We must ensure that numbers are kept to an extreme minimum to prevent overcrowding.

During the funeral we must stress that you exercise social distancing and mask-wearing at every stage of the day. We cannot create any opportunities for the authorities to shut down Melissa's send-off. It is difficult to speak like this in regards to a funeral, but we must be clear about the rules that need to be followed given the current situation, to protect the day for Melissa and the family.

Graveside Service

There will be a graveside service. It is unfortunate that the circumstances only allow us to have 30 attendees at the burial. Anyone who has not been formally invited must exercise extreme social distancing (at least 20 metres) from the burial site and the attendees.

Evening Celebration of Melissa Joy Swaby
